I stumbled upon this skirt at Loehmanns a few weeks ago. It was a convenient find as I was just thinking I needed to replace the pleated skirt that has been in my closet since high school and only fits half the time I try it on. It’s a little more adult and perfect for work or dressing up.

The snow has finally arrived in Michigan so Slayer and I have to bundle up when we go out for a walk. This has to be the warmest sweater I own – it’s like a giant blanket – and it was just a cheap find at Forever 21!

I love this dress from Tart. I spotted it on RueLaLa and even though I have a ton of striped dressed I reasoned it’s more of a chevron and I don’t have anything this exact shade, so I needed it, right?

Mandy and I got all fancy on Friday for dinner in Mexicantown (complete with a rockn’ mariachi band serenade) and the Wonderland DVD release party, a local sideshow type production based on Alice in Wonderland. We set up the camera and as Thriller came on, had a little dance party and took outfit photos.

When we arrived at the theater for the screening there was a line down the block, so we sat in the car for a bit to keep warm,  critiquing the outfits and poor shoes choices of the guests. It was NOT the weather for heels as you can see by our combat boots. Irina even showed up in a floor length gown with combat boots too!

There were a few live performers before the movie started which included the brilliant Satori Circus as Conrad Lee who sang a few songs and got the entire audience to join in on ‘I’m your venus, I’m your fire, your desire!”

I snagged this from one of the 12 bins of vintage Nicole was hording in her dining room. I’d been looking for a cozy grandpa sweater on Etsy for a while, so when I pulled this out I knew it was coming home with me. Super warm and fits perfectly. Perfect for Sunday brunch and cuddling on the couch watching The Wizard of Oz on TV.

Another case of not being able to control myself with blue velvet. I saved this to my Etsy favorites a few weeks ago and then after thinking about it for days on end I went back and bought it. So glad I did because it fits perfectly.

I went to American Apparel looking for leotards and couldn’t help myself when I spotted these leggings. Blue and velvet are not two things I’m usually drawn to, but apparently it’s my new thing because I ended up purchasing a blue velvet dress not a week later.

After 5 years of being red I decided it was time for a change…a big change. I’ve been eying pretty black and blond ladies online for a while now and decided to just go for it. When I had a pixie cut I’d change my color every month and Tuesday I was actually a little nervous to change. A few hours at the salon with my stylist, Mike, I feel like I transformed from Ariel to Ursula (the hot version :)

It was kinda really freezing outside and, not sure if you can tell, my deck is totally covered in ice >_< But I braved the weather to snap pics of my comfy/lazy Friday outfit. As soon as the temperature drops I can no longer seem to make pants work and turn to dresses, leggings and boots, plus my giant down coat to keep me warm. I may have possibly ordered two new dresses this week and I’m really excited to wear them!
