I can’t remember that this trick is called, but look at that foot lock on the bottom – perfect!

Half-cross = totally terrifying! This trick takes balls more that anything. I know my grip and arm strength will hold me up, but it’s so scary to take my feet off the bar. I couldn’t do it last week, but this week I was determined.

And the full iron cross – even more terrifying because you’re not hanging from anything. I just started yelling once my feet were off the bar and Ria made me do it again so she could take a picture.

I never expect to enjoy this class as must as I did. I’ve never been athletic or one to practice a lot. But this has been such a fantastic challenge that I work every week, stretching and building arm strength, so when I get to class on Sunday I can climb a little higher and stretch a little further. It’s been thrilling and surprising the crazy things my mind and body are doing because it takes as much balls and it does strength.

My pull up bar is going to a lot of use for the next two weeks and then it’s back to the Fly House for another eight sessions!

Went on a bunch of family vacations to South Carolina and camping trips up north.
Visited Providence, Boston, Rochester, NY, and somewhere in New Jersey.
Road tripped to Chicago three times to see Green Day, Dragonforce, and Motion City Soundtrack.
Rode the coasters at Cedar Point 3.2 times.
Worked at Michael’s Arts & Crafts, Gap, a salon, a web design firm and an Italian Restaurant. Got fired from two, walked out of one, and was so excited to quit one when I got my degree.
Got into three car accidents.
Had three significant relationships and had my heart broken twice.
Colored my hair blue, red, blonde, black, pink, orange, brown and a bunch of combinations of those.
Went to Warped Tour nine times, saw a million concerts, and a billion local shows.

It’s interesting what I chose to write down in my journals and what is important enough to go on this list. I’m going to make a point to spend more time accomplishing stuff, so in 2020 my list is ten times as long.

The picture they used is from last year and butt ugly. Seriously people, I would have sent a new one, all you had to do is ask!

It still weirds me out to have magazines call and want to talk to me about women’s issues like I’m some authority on the subject. But it sounds like I know what I’m talking about, so I’m ok with it.

Last week CosmoGirl called….yeah. Still trying to wrap my mind around that one. I haven’t heard if they’re actually going to do a story yet or not.

Once inside I met up with Seth and grabbed a gin and tonic to calm my nerves – driving around town and the thought of getting up on stage had me a little on edge. We settled at a table with a couple other people from the station and waited for the show to start. Our category was toward the beginning and just before it was announced my heart made multiple attempts to leap out of my chest. They announced the winners and Seth and I made our way on stage. I let him do the talking and held the statue. There was no way I’d be able to form a sentence with a room full of people and those blinding lights.

They sent us downstairs to pick up our Emmys and then took a graduation style photo of each of us. The rest of the award show was very long and I tried to pass the time by texting B. Jesus beat God with 3 thank yous to 2.

Mom was standing at the front door when I got home. She had already called all my relatives, my uncle said he was going to throw me a parade.

Now I’m watching TV with the rents and eating taco bell. The Emmy is on the mantle. I don’t think it will ever hit me that it’s mine. It’s the last thing I ever expected to win as a web designer, but now I want another!
