Field Trip // Hamtramck Disneyland

Mandy and I took a little field trip the other day to visit Hamtramck Disneyland. From 1992 to 1999, Ukrainian immigrant Dmytro Szylak built this art installation in this backyard. Supposedly at night everything lights up and parts of it spin around. Hamtramck also has a huge Polish population so post-photo session we headed over to Polish Village Cafe for pierogi and dill pickle soup (which I’m totally still craving).

Wow, this is amazing. It’s eerie but it has a sense of nostalgia to it.

What a wacky installation- love it! I’ve never heard of dill pickle soup but love pickles, it sounds amazing. Think I’m craving it now too!
