First Week of Freedom

Life lately has been much less stressful. I no longer have to cram all my classes, rehearsals, meetings and errands into the few hours after work before crashing in bed. I can schedule rehearsals during the day, walk the dog when I need a break, take the time to make a healthy lunch.

Yesterday I started my day checking email, writing a blog post and filling Etsy orders while enjoying my orange juice on the couch with all the windows open. At one I took a break to get dressed, make lunch and take the piglet for a walk. Then I moved out to the deck and worked on a mock-up for a new client before heading downtown to teach aerial class.
As someone who loves being productive, the freedom has been a huge relief. I no longer feel like hours of my day are wasted and while it’s definitely challenging to stay focused on work when I’m not chained to a desk for eight hours a day, I’m staying on track pretty well so far.

Sounds perfect! Very relaxing. :)
You look so relaxed in that last picture! Good for you for doing what you want and not what you have to!
I’m debating if I should take the summer off or continue with my subbing job right through until September. Sure it means more money and a potential full time job, but right now… my mind is about to explode.
Summer vacation is so underrated. I vote for taking some time off. We forget how much we need that re-energizing as adults!
Like the others said, your house is so beautiful! Congrats on having freedom and yay to less stress.
I was just wondering how is Stella doing? I haven’t seen her on your blog and I remember you were talking about her settling in. I hope she’s all ok now, my dog took about 2 months to settle in fully. :)
xx Renee
Thanks Renee! Stella didn’t end up being a great fit for Slayer and I – she was a lot more rambunctious then I could handle on my own and Slayer was getting trampled on a regular basis – I felt bad for the little dude! Luckily the rescue org I worked with had a two week policy so we could test things out to see if she was a good fit. She went back to the foster family she was living with before and I think they were actually really happy to have her back :)
I love seeing photos of your house, you have such a great place (and taste!)
Also, if this doesn’t make me want to hang up my work clothes forever, I don’t know what would. Sounds like you’re really making the best of it.
I ADORE you and your blog. I found it about a month a go and I am totally hooked. I am so happy for you and your new found freedom, I aspire to be just like you one day! xoxo
Hoooray! You’re going to love it! :)
Congratulations on achieving the freedom! :)
