Stroopwafels

One of my favorite things Pants brought me back from Amsterdam was Stroopwafels. They’re two thin crispy, buttery, sugary cookies with a gooey layer of caramel-like syrup in the middle and so addicting! As you can see there are only three left in the package and I’ve already demanded he fly back across the ocean to retrieve more. You’re supposed to place them on top of a hot cup of coffee so the center melts and becomes extra delicious. I found a recipe here that I might have to try should I ever come across a waffle cone iron.

    No need to go all the way to Amsterdam for this, as you can find stroopwafels at online shops in the US, although that would be an excellent excuse for a trip home. A simple web search for stroopwafel will turn up many Dutch import shops, and you could even find it at Amazon.

    Heerlijk = delicious
