I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m going to be in a book! My friend and circus sister, Cheryl, is an uber talented photographer and is putting together a book about Detroit circus performers. She’s including so many fantastic, inspiring artists and I’m completely honored she asked me to be part of it too!
Last night most of the aerial performers met at the Flyhouse, so she could shoot us all at once. First we did unmade-up head shots and then painted our faces, pulled on our leotards and headed to the vacant lot down the street for the shoot. My crappy iPhone shots do not do justice to the quality of her images at all. I’ve seen a few sneak peeks of the other performers and they are so beautiful…I cannot wait to see my final photos!

Where do you get your gym clothing? That leotard is amazing!! It reminds me of the vintage barbie in the black/white suit!
