Easter weekend
This weekend was all kinds of lovely and fun. Saturday was finally warm and beautiful again, so I took Slayer for a run. First time this year and it’s definitely going to take some regular training to not feel like death every time. If Pants can get up at 6:30 in the morning to go work out I can definitely get my ass out of bed at 8.
After a slight cleaning rampage, we met up and rode bikes over to a barbecue at a friend’s house. I really should have taken pictures – it was all mid century modern with vintage appliances – like someone had preserved the entire house for 40 years. After dinner, though it was getting a little chilly, we biked over to the bar to see The Hard Lessons play an acoustic show. In the summer there are bikes on every rack, parking meter and tree, but I guess we were the only ones thinking it was warm enough to ride that night. The LT was still packed and after watching the show we planted ourselves at the bar for the rest of the night.
Sunday we woke up early so we could still do brunch before I headed to the rents for Easter. Pants made tortilla de patatas (so good!!) and we stumbled upon one of the most trippy shows ever H.R. Pufnstuf. After brunch, I picked up Slayer and headed over to my parents before making the long drive to my grandparent’s house. I borrowed my sister’s headphones so I could listen to Pandora all the way there, but per usual after about 20 minutes in the car I passed out and slept the rest of the way. Lunch was lovely with my grandmother’s inventive cooking (mac and cheese with cumin and green olives?) and my mom’s expert baking.
Sunday ended at the Emory, hidden in a giant half-moon booth drinking Dragonmead Final Absolution (and of course the domination of another Ben & Jerry’s flavor).

Love the new design! <3

Mae Lu @ thereafterish.!
That pie looks amazing!
And I love the Hard Lessons! An ex of mine was good friends with them so I saw them perform several times. They’re so much fun! I heard them on a commercial a year ago and go ridiculously excited.
omg that pie looks amazing. sounds like a fabulous weekend!
sounds lovely :)
That drink does sound delicious!!!
I love your weekend, sounds so lovely and so much like our weekends. ^_^
And I am the same way. I sleep on long rides, except it’s out of feeling totally blissful on the road than boredom. I love moving, being in the car and traveling so it’s like a big warm blanket. ^_^
