Tuesday

A year or so ago I read a hair tutorial from a stylist saying she wraps her wet hair in a low bun after a shower and it comes out all wavy and pretty. I’ve been trying to get it right for a while, but my layers were too short and left my hair looking kinda wacky. But yesterday…success! There were a few stragglers that I had to whip out my iron and curl, but it’s almost all from air-drying in a bun.

Today is my mom’s 50th birthday. I called her a few minutes ago and she was partying at the casino with her sisters, mom and aunt. I’m headed out to meet her and my dad for dinner after work and then we’ll celebrate on Friday with my brother and sister too. And of course we’re throwing her a huge party at the end of July once my parent backyard is finished. Yay! I love family celebrations!

Those are the kinds of curls I’ve been trying to achieve forever! When I do the bun technique my hair still turns out super curly…

That’s an awesome tip – thanks for sharing! I’ll have to try that sometimes. I usually have to scrunch my hair if I want it curly or curl it. I’ll have to try this on the weekend since I don’t have room for error during the week lol

OH MY GOSH!!! I’ve been doing that wet hair in a bun thing for like two years now. It is AMAZING!!! Definitely looks GREAT!!!

The food looks NOM!!! And happy birthday to your MOM!!! Hey, that rhymed.

Awesomely cute hair!! I may have to try that some day (like, a Sunday when I don’t have to leave the house in case it turns out awful! I’m horrible at hair styling!)

  9. I have serious hair envy right now. I get those magically perfect waves once in a blue moon but haven’t been able to figure out how to make it happen on purpose. I think the hair fairy visits me in my sleep but she does not visit often enough.

I will try this bun-drying technique and see how it goes. Fingers Crossed!

I wish that wet hair in a bun trick would work for me — my hair is already wavy so if I put it in a bun and then go to sleep, in the morning it’s just a frizzy crazy curly fright rather than perfect waves like yours!

And your dinner looks delish! Yum!

Hope your mom has a very happy birthday!

    Happy birthday to your Mom!

I am so jealous of your hair. I’m trying to grow out an angled/stacked bob right now and it is soooo awkward.

    That pasta looks delish!

  15. I used to do that with my hair when it was long! Looks lovely on you!!
