Wow, I just realized my last few posts were all about working out. I still do other things besides working out. No really, I do!

Yesterday I went grocery shopping while I was really hungry and bought so much food I pretended I was feeding a family of 12 as I loaded all the bags into my car. Also as I was leaving the store I heard a man coming up behind me ‘Miss?! Oooh miss!!’ I thought I had left something at the register so I turned around. ‘You have the most beautiful red hair I’ve ever seen,’ He says as he strokes the side of my hair. ‘I’m a hair dresser and I’d fucking hate myself if I didn’t tell you.’ I just kept saying thank you and tried to not look creeped out as I shoved my overflowing cart toward the parking lot.

I also got my patio set this weekend. I had a lovely Sunday morning sitting in the sun reading. I even managed to get a little sunburn. My weekend also included chocolate chip banana pancakes, making dinner for my parents, shopping at Loehmanns, and playing Scrabble long distance.

OK, so I’m going to talk about working out anyway. :) I had circus class on Saturday and got to demonstrate a trick for the class. I had only tried it once before so I wasn’t able to flip back and hook my leg without a boost, but I’m glad I did it anyway.

Ria and I also tried the heel hang. I’m not able to let go yet, but at some point I will be able to just hang from the backs of my heels.

Today I decided to run before work. Now I’m sitting at my desk buzzing with a crazy amount of energy. I always take my house key off my big key chain when I run. I didn’t put it back on right when I got back, so I am currently locked out of my house. Oh well, I’m glad I went anyway.

I’ve started making playlists to coincide with my workout. Couch to 5k gets a little crazy in the middle [ jog 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes, jog 8 minutes, walk 3 minutes, jogĀ  5 minutes] I wasn’t sure how I was going to keep track of it. I ordered the songs on my iTunes by time and built a playlist so I would know when to run or walk. Today’s playlist was all Descendents!

Wow! Circus class! That looks like so much fun!! I’m new to your blog, so sorry if you’ve been doing this all your life and I’m all “omg wow this is so cool” about it.

I’m with Jamie: I’d give my left pinkie toe to take a circus class. I’m all about the Cirque du Soleil moves!

Also, unauthorized hair molestation is unacceptable. Several people have tried to reach out and touch my ‘fro, only to pull back a nub.

Dude, that hair thing is ridiculous. I’ve definitely been picked up at the grocery store…especially the Kroger in Hazel Park, but never petted. That’s crazy!

WHOA, majorly creepy! I can’t stand it when people crowd my personal space, but then to intrude further with touching? UGH! GRODES!

You are getting so bad-ass with your aerial yoga, it’s not even funny.

You know, you may get to a point with running, where you don’t even need the music. I find I can feel more attuned to my body, speed and breathing when I am only listening to the birds, the breeze and feeling my own running rhythm. It’s weird, but it feels kind of spiritual.

I’ve done the walk/run playlist as well! But I’m still trying to build up my endurance so it’s more like walk for one song, run for half of one song – hahaha.

  9. I’m starting the Couch to 5k tomorrow. I was supposed to start today but I got pulled into a last-minute whisky tasting event (my job is haaaard).

How do you make your playlists? Do you use a program to cut songs to the right length? I’ve found some podcasts, but I’d love to put my own music together.

ClaireSuzanne – If my workout for that week is run 90 seconds, walk two minutes I use iTunes to find songs of the right length and then drop them into a playlist.

SUCH a good idea to make a playlist which tells you when to walk|jog. You’re genius. <3
