Yoga Class No. 2 – Balancing Bloggers
Last night I had the privilege of attending a private yoga class at SuperGirl‘s apartment along with Mandy and Jenni. Her friend, Courtney was in town from Colorado and is working on becoming a yoga instructor. It was a much better experience than my last yoga class!
First off, I have to say, SuperGirl’s apartment in Detroit is fantastic. High ceilings, big windows, cool looking concrete floors. Forget any assumptions you have about the city – everything was brand spankin’ new. It makes me want to sell my house and move downtown.
We laid our mats in a row on the floor and started class. After about 15 minutes I was sweating and by 20 I was sliding every time I moved into down dog. Courtney did a great job of adjusting us and moving us deeper into the poses. I got a great stretch and felt completely relaxed by the time we finished. I’m getting better at balancing and holding poses, though we all tipped over at some point. I need to work on coordinating my breathing and movements so I don’t hyperventilate.
After class SuperGirl pulled homemade veggie lasagna out of the oven. Note to self: continue to make friends who can cook! It was so good and went great with the guacamole and chips and Easter cookies :)
As always I love hanging out with my bloggy friends. It was great to spend a couple hours talking about boys and work. By the time I got home I was full, relaxed and happy and crashed pretty early to the sounds of an incoming thunderstorm.

That was awkward.
Here’s a better sentence construction:
I would’ve been there–I swear!–had I not had to go to Las Vegas this weekend.
God, I would’ve been there–I do swear it–had I not have had to go to Las Vegas this weekend.
I’ve always wanted to live in one of those cool apartments with a high ceiling, concrete, open space, tons of windows…definitely industrial looking. That’s only if I was single until I’m 30 but didn’t happen in this lifetime. :)
Aww, what a nice post, Courtney will love it!!!
I was so glad to have you guys over, we’ll have to do it again. And you should totally just sell your house and be my neighbor ;-)
i’m sorry i missed it, it sounds like a relaxing time! and homemade lasagna, yum!
I need to start doing yoga. I have some DVDs so I have no excuse not to :)
Just reading this post made me so happy. Last night was a total blast and I think you articulated it perfectly. :) We must find a good yoga class to join. Something less crazy than the flyhouse though ;)
