Jenn and I took a trip to Home Depot yesterday to look at paint samples for the upstairs of my house. I still have a bathroom and two bedrooms to paint. I’m thinking of turning one of the bedrooms into a TV room with a sofa bed.
At first I wanted to paint the room yellow, but then got the idea of red velvet curtains into my head, so the yellow was out. Then I thought I’d go a little Tim Burton and do vertical black and white stripes, but that might be a little overbearing in such a small room.
Now I’m leaning toward light and dark gray stripes. All of my other rooms have bright color on the walls, so it might be interesting to do a room with color in the furniture and accessories instead. It will be a good backdrop for the concert posters I’m planning to buy on eBay.
Couch – Overstock, Lamp and Rug – CB2
For the office, since most of the walls will end up lined with bookshelves, I’m thinking white with a big blueish/purpleish wall.
I also realized that I bought nail polish and eye shadow in the same colors as my paint swatches.
Sally Hansen Gunmetal
This eye shadow (L’oreal HIP) turned out a lot lighter than I expected.
Any recommendations for a dark, sparkly purple?
Also, on a random note, I’ve decided to participate in Charade Style’s Make Your Life Amazing series. It’s only three days in and my brain is very, very happy with the things I’m figuring out.

Love the eyeshadow! But if you’re looking to get more color out of it, try using a eye primer.

It’s somewhat of a small tube, but it’s lasted me forever! You only need the tiniest dab. You get more color from your eyeshadow and it makes it stay put longer too. :)
