Last Decade List
[ Me in 2005, 2008, 2004, and 2003 ]
Jumping on the bandwagon for JenRem’s Last Decade Project. I even dug into two old Livejournals for this…scary.
Here’s what happened:
2000 – 2001: Acted in four musicals
2000 – 2001: Watched bands play every weekend at a local cafe
1998 – 2001: Was a competitive ballroom dancer
2001: Graduated high school
2001: Became vegetarian
2001 – 2005: Ran a local music website
2002: Bought my first car (which I’m still driving)
2002: Bought my first cell phone
2004: PR internship at an ad agency
2005: Graduated college with a BA in journalism
2005: Started working at the TV station
2005: Moved out of my parent’s house
2005: Spent many nights at after hours dance parties
2005 – 2009: Ran a feminist organization
2007: Lost my aunt to breast/brain cancer
2008: Lost my grandfather to lung cancer
2008: Rode 17 miles on my bike
2008: Won an Emmy
2008: Named on of Crain’s 20 in their 20′s
2008: Flew for the first time EVER
2008: Started this blog
2009: Bought a house
2009: Adopted a dog
2009: Shot a gun
2009: Flew for the second time ever totally spur of the moment
I also…
Went on a bunch of family vacations to South Carolina and camping trips up north.
Visited Providence, Boston, Rochester, NY, and somewhere in New Jersey.
Road tripped to Chicago three times to see Green Day, Dragonforce, and Motion City Soundtrack.
Rode the coasters at Cedar Point 3.2 times.
Worked at Michael’s Arts & Crafts, Gap, a salon, a web design firm and an Italian Restaurant. Got fired from two, walked out of one, and was so excited to quit one when I got my degree.
Got into three car accidents.
Had three significant relationships and had my heart broken twice.
Colored my hair blue, red, blonde, black, pink, orange, brown and a bunch of combinations of those.
Went to Warped Tour nine times, saw a million concerts, and a billion local shows.
It’s interesting what I chose to write down in my journals and what is important enough to go on this list. I’m going to make a point to spend more time accomplishing stuff, so in 2020 my list is ten times as long.

Just seeing those photos from the past ten years is awesome. One thing that hasn’t changed though is how beautiful you are. Seriously, your boyfriend is a lucky man!
Now, I LOVE you Last Decade list. I’m going to link to it on my blog once I’ve finished up all the lists people sent me. :) You’ve done some pretty exciting things over the years…
Competitive ballroom dancing? Do teach me. Please!
Won an Emmy? Do share the details!
You were named one of Crain’s 20 under 20 last year?! How awesome! I’m going to recheck out that list. I always read it and think how great it’d be to know one of those people. I can’t believe I now do!
And you have had your hair every color under the rainbow. How fun!
I love your motivation to make your next decade list ten times longer. I am going to do the same :)

Barbetti – Do it! I just remind myself that hair grows and then go for it.
Sophie – Thank you!!
Mandy – Can’t wait to see you too!! I’m stoked for embarrassing feats of yoga uncoordination.
