I spent last night at my parent’s house and woke up to my mom turning on the Christmas tree lights and trying to coax Slayer outside to go potty. He was uninterested and burrowed under the covers next to me instead. My sister made vegan banana walnut pancakes for breakfast and then we piled into the car for Christmas at my grandparents. I got a bunch of giftcards and money, which will be added to my tattoo fund (yay!!). We played Scrabble Slam (A+++, but I’m a word nerd) and Things (pretty fun). When we got home Slayer had a spaz over the toy my aunt got him. My mom made cinnamon rolls around 10pm while we hooked up her new Nintendo DSi and Wii – yes, my mom is actually a 10-year-old boy.

I’m excited to spend my week off watching a million movies with the Netflix subscription I got from my brother, going on movie dates, reading the four books that arrived this week, purchasing discount Christmas decorations, and setting goals for next year.

Other things making me happy:

Seeing my family  + Christmas leftovers + warm weather melting all the snow (yeah I know, it’s coming back tomorrow) + having the urge to clean my entire house + listening to TREOS for the first time in probably a year + reunion shows + starting to feel un-sick + new Frye boots + curling my hair + rocking my sequin dress + watching Star Trek again + conquering my last day of work from home in bed + Slayer in a Christmas sweater + Muse live at Wembley +

Hope you had a lovely Christmas/Friday as well!

    Scrabble… Slam?

    Intriguing.

Peter – Yes! It’s so fun. It’s a fast moving card game – you start with a 4 letter world and then use the cards in your hand to put down a letter and change the word. Like BANG becomes SANG. It goes really fast and there’s lots of yelling and I pretend it’s my cardio for the day.

I’m glad you had an awesome Christmas! Sounds like a Christmas I’d enjoy…as nothing beats being with the family you love and enjoy! Mine was lovely too and wish it wasn’t over already.
