Catching Up

I’m planning to spend most of the weekend in bed with Slayer. I’ve been on the verge of sickness since Wednesday – sore throat, coughing, sneezing, achy all over, pressure in my chest – but none of my symptoms are full blown. Like I said to my boss yesterday, I don’t know what’s going on over here. I think my body is just trying to fight it off. I took a bath in lavender epsom salts last night. It was the first time at this house and my tub is soooo nice. The end of it slopes in the most comfy way. I took a phone call that made me smile and read while I was in there.

It snowed an inch or so overnight, so I’m going to avoid going out. I want to finish reading Say Your One of Them and maybe find some Christmas movies on TV. I’m also hoping the rest of the MCS shows will be streamed because I watched the first one last night and although totally pixelated, it was still awesome.

Now to catch up on the Best of ’09 Blog Challenge!

December 15 Best TV Show

Ok, so I changed this one just so I could write about how awesome Sons of Anarchy is. Motorcycles, guns, hot dudes and lots of leather. I can’t get enough of this show! I love it as much as Lost and I REAAAALLY love Lost.

December 16 Tea of the year. I can taste my favorite tea right now. What’s yours?

Arnold Palmer – every couple weeks I brew up a big kettle of tea and make a big container of lemonade and drink nothing but AP’s for a week. I also discovered they make them at Starbucks. I’ve always skipped SBucks runs at work because I don’t drink coffee, but now I can get an Arnold Palmer!

December 17 Word or phrase. A word that encapsulates your year. “2009 was _____.”

Let Go – all the bad stuff, the bad people, the bad memories. There’s no sense in carrying things that make you hurt. So this year I’ve let them all go. Now I can start 2010 fresh, positive, and open to better people and better things.

December 18 Shop. Online or offline, where did you spend most of your mad money this year?

I sent a whole lot of money to Forever21. I just can’t help it. I look at dresses and jewelry on more expensive sites and then find something similar at F21 for half the price. But I can never stop at one or two pieces and end up with a cart full by the time I’m done.

December 19 Car ride. What did you see? How did it smell? Did you eat anything as you drove there? Who were you with?

It’s not a specific car ride the stands out in my mind, but a collection of them. The trip to see Gloria Steinem speak, the ride to Luna, the few block home from the WAB are all held together by Jenn and I and our top-of-our-lungs Alkaline Trio sing-a-longs. We don’t care who hears, and with the windows down, I’m sure lots of people do. Sometimes we start with a little Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Rancid, but we always go back to AK3. I always forget how therapeutic those sessions can be, but when it’s over and we are laughing and out of breath I’m sad to be back home and want to head back to the highway for more.

How is Say You’re One of Them? I almost bought it this week!

Quite a significant chunk of my wardrobe is F21, too! But I live nowhere near a store, so I buy everything online. You really can’t beat it, especially getting basic tanks and tees for so cheap!

Sounds like your day is going to be nice and cozy. I like it!
