Best of 2009 Blog Challenge

December 14, 2009

I’ve gotten a little behind on the blog challenge…

Challenge. Something that really made you grow this year. That made you go to your edge and then some. What made it the best challenge of the year for you?

heartbreak

Shitty dudes. It was a challenge to try and make it work. It was a challenge to walk away. It was a challenge to put the walls up and then let them come down again. When it all fell apart, it was a challenge to pick myself up and keep going. As much as I wish I didn’t have to deal with it, I know eventually I’ll look back and be glad for having gone through it.

Album of the year. What’s rocking your world?

ladygaga

Lady Gaga’s The Fame was the soundtrack to many of my nights out along with lots of other dance music. Every Wednesday night we’d converge on the same bar for free drinks and to dance. Black Eyed Peas, Cobra Starship, Lil’ Wayne – not my normal picks, but they got me dancing anyway.

The best place. A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?

The best place is my bed. Don’t get any dirty ideas now, I’m talking TV watching, puppy snuggling, breakfast, blogging, reading, crafting. It’s the most comfy spot in my house and therefore my favorite.

Food. You’re now in love with Lebanese food and you didn’t even know what it was in January of this year.

2009 was the year of cupcakes. I don’t think I’ve ever made and eaten so many cupcakes in my entire life. I even ended up with one tattooed on my arm, which is a great way to get a lot of free dessert :)

What’s the best change you made to the place you live?

housebefore-afterAt the beginning of the year I painted the entire main floor of my house. It went from white, beige and boring to teal, red and orange. I also had my cousin put a giant deck on the back of the house which was a huge change from the tiny platform and stairs that was there.

Rush. When did you get your best rush of the year?

Shooting range, period. It wasn’t something I ever expected to do. But after watching enough Sons of Anarchy I knew I needed to learn how to shoot a gun. It was scary and exhilarating all at the same time.

Ummm…so all fall my mom has been telling me about Sons of Anarchy. I don’t have cable so I didn’t watch and was a total hater. Over Thanksgiving we watched Tivo-ed episodes and I AM IN LOVE AND OBSESSED.
