If the world is ending then we toast to it

FRIDAY Aaron and I went to see The Raveonettes at the Stick. I had only heard the band a couple of times, so when one of the openers turned out to be a bit jam band-esque I got a little worried. I was relieved and impressed when The Raveonettes turned out to be all ’60s inspired with pretty vocals and crunchy guitars. The steady bass lines and crazy lights actually reminded me of Nine Inch Nails at one point.

SATURDAY I was super lazy all day, staying in bed to watch The Addams Family, Addams Family Values and Hocus Pocus. (Yay ABC Family!!) I worked on my Halloween costume a bit and then got off my ass around 5 to get ready for The Get Up Kids show.

I was stoked to find out that Dan Adriano was opening for them, but wish he had played a couple more Alkaline Trio songs like “My Standard Break from Life” and “If You Had a Bad Time.” Instead he played “Blue Carolina”…weird.

The Get Up Kids was fantastic and played all the hits, including my favorite, “I’ll Catch You,” which I don’t think I’ve ever seen live.

My brother, sister, her bf, Gravy, Aaron and his bestie Adam were all there singing-a-long at the top of their lungs. Having a giant posse of friends to sing-a-long with always makes a show a million times better.

Love this face!

TODAY I think I’m going to be super lazy again, watching movies (Goonies!), continuing to make my Halloween costume and decorations, and maybe possibly cleaning. Maybe :)
