Last night Bets and I ventured to Mexican Town for fried tacos and margaritas at Xochimilco.

My second favorite part of going down there, right after delish food, is getting to drive past the dilapidated, old train station. It’s HUGE and creepy with a million broken windows and graffiti in places that look terrifying to reach. I hold my breath as we drive under the bridge, not knowing what ghosts might be hiding in there.

It’s a regular spot for photographers and there are more amazing photos on Flickr. I will be so sad when they tear it down.
After dinner we headed to the Lager house to see Regrets play and hang out with some of the most genuine, sweet dudes I have ever known.

Me and Bets, who is no longer a blondie!

I love that train station.
Also, Evie’s Tamales is the best for good food cheap. Downfall is the lack of a liquor license :-(

i have serious bang envy every time i see a pic of you!
i wish mine looked that good (when i had them)

alexa – it’s all about the straightener. i cut them straight across every couple weeks and straighten the crap out of them.
tracy – thanks for stopping by!!
Xochimilco’s is my spot! When I was younger it was the only reason my family would venture down into Detroit. But a couple a weeks ago I found a cooler Mexicano joint called Taqueria Mi Pueblo on Dix Road. The food is wicked cheap and wicked good. Have you been there???

Karen – My boss actually recommended Taqueria Mi Pueblo before I left last night, but I didn’t have time to find directions before we headed downtown. Guess I’ll have to go back to Mexican Town soon!
Ria – It would be great if they would be able to transform some of the building downtown instead of knocking everything down.
mmmm xochi’s! i always wanted to go take pictures of the train station. i wish they would have turned it into the police headquarters :(
