Slayer and I went to my parents house for a swim today. I hopped right in, as the water was a comfortable 85 degrees, but Slayer wasn’t too interested in getting wet. He wandered around the pool for a bit and I finally picked him up and went to set him in the water. Just as I was about to dip him he started to paddle in mid-air like mad. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Once I let him go he jumped back out of the pool and did his best to stay away from me, climbing on my mom’s lap for protection.

jessica – we need a doggy outing soon! stoney creek maybe?
There has to be a way to hold dogs above water and use their paddling to generate electricity. Puppy power is the future.
Aw! I’m glad the weather was nice so you could hang by the pool. (Your comment on my blog said that’s what you were hoping for in case you’re all WTH?) LOL
What an adorable dog!
Riley is my 2 year old Pit-Pei who is a beautiful girl. But apparently she doesn’t know much about water.
I decided I would let her out in the gated pool area of the apartment we live in in the middle of the night, so see what she thought.
She got so excited she immediately started bolting around, and then I guess thinking the water was just shiny concrete ran directly into it.
She was in such shock, she started sinking, like the “doggie paddle” thing didn’t click with her. I had to jump in and pull her up. She was like a completely limp noodle.
It was the.funniest.thing ever.
