Things that get me out of bed before 8AM:
1. Getting my hair did
2. Cute puppy that has to peeeee
After I let Slayer (yes, finally decided on a name) out at 7:30 and we sleep for another two hours and then he burrows under the covers and passes out while I check my email. He looooves riding in the car and is such a good puppy I let him stay home all day out of his crate while I’m at work. Except last night when I went to the bar to watch the Wings lose and Slayer decided to open a bag of Doritos…don’t think he ate many though.
Trying to get into a routine. Having someone else to think about all the time is a huge change and I’ve been feeling slightly off-kilter. But it’s completely worth it for how excited he is when I walk in the house every day.
I’ve gone from blogging only about my house to only about my puppy. So here’s a bit more of what I’ve been up to:
- Work is super busy – it’s taken me hours to write this post. I don’t have much time for my Reader these days.
- I’ve been hanging out with a new dude, but trying to not put all my eggs in one basket just yet since they were smashed to bits last time i did.
- Excited to watch Lost with Dunner and ride bikes with Jenn.

every time i see a picture of your dog i can’t help but say ‘aw’ and then i go look for my rat terrier. aren’t they so adorable when they burrow in the blankets?
Slayer is a cutie. Dogs are a lot of work but walking into the door and having someone so excited to see me is the best. They are good cuddlers too!
I’ve really been wanting a dog but have been holding out for exactly the reasons you mention above. The whole throwing your schedule off and always having to think of another being is still too much for me. But you’re right that the idea that there’s “someone” at home to greet you is quite tempting!!
LOVE the name!!
i hope it works out with your man friend!
What a cute name for your puppy! I wish I had things that get me out of bed before 7AM – I’m jealous that you get more sleep.
I can’t wait to watch Lost tonight!
