It’s official…the main floor of my house is completely painted!
Here’s a before of the kitchen:
And now that it’s all painted…
I’ll post a shot of all three colors (living rm, dining rm and kitchen) together once my parents come pick up their old, ugly couch that’s sitting in front of the fireplace.
Last night I added contact paper behind the shelves in the medicine cabinet:
I’ve seen this idea on a bunch of design blogs and it was fairly easy. I just cut the paper to size and slid it behind all the shelves. I did have to break some of them off because they were painted on, but they snapped back into place when I was done. The bathroom hasn’t been painted yet, so no I didn’t pick out that lovely taupe color.

Oh wow, it looks fantastic! Now that is a kitchen that looks like it’s fun to cook in and just be in and show off to guests. Job well done!
It reminds me of my kitchen at my old apartment. My boyfriend calls it my “single days” kitchen because I was able to use a lot more color than I do now that we’re together– it’s a bit more muted now…
All in all, fantastic. I hate painting, but I love the way it looks. White walls would drive me insane!

morgan – thanks! white walls drive me crazy too – gotta have lots of color. the bathroom is going to be green, but it’s last on the list, so it will stay that color for a while.

You know, you could TOTALLY redo houses and then sell them for a profit. That kitchen just upped the price of your house by a lot!

Looks good! I think I saw some other pictures you posted before. It almost looks as though you took some of your favorite CSS style sheets (redundant I know) and used those colors on walls. What I mean to say, is that it makes for some great color combinations and really livens up the look of your walls.
