I found http://dailyroutines.typepad.com/ via LoobyLu. It’s interesting to think how we follow the same path each and every day. I get ready for work the same way and if something causes me to deviate from my routine I end up forgetting deodorant or blush and then feel slightly off the rest of the day.

So, whether it’s interesting or not, here is my routine. Though my timing generally leads me to be late, I’m always routine about that.

My alarm is set for somewhere around 9am, but I hit the snooze 5 or 6 times before getting out of bed around 9:45. I make the bed, go into my office and check my email. By then I really have to pee, which is the only thing that drags me away from my computer, so I head to the bathroom and shower. I brush my teeth, get dressed, put on makeup and do my hair the same order every day. Around 11 I head downstairs to pack my lunch and then it’s off to work.

At work I open up my work email, Firefox, IE and AIM. Check all four of my email accounts and voicemail. Then go through and update/fix anything that has been emailed while eating breakfast, which lately has been Cheez-its. Around 2pm I get bored with work and take some time to sift through my reader and update TG. Generally someone from the sales team will come by and interrupt my blog reading with actual work. I put off their project for a while longer and then decide I should probably get it done. I eat lunch around 4 and sometimes watch Oprah (I’m allowed…I work at a TV station!) At 4:45 all hell breaks loose in the newsroom, which is very entertaining and by 5 whatever went wrong is solved and the news goes on without a hitch.

I leave work between 7 and 7:30 and either meet a friend for dinner or head home. Immediately upon walking in the house I turn on the TV and find something to watch or it’s too quiet. I make dinner and eat while sitting on the couch watching TV. Then I either work on the house, watch more TV or head to the bar.

By 1:30am I get ready for bed, which B says takes about 6 hours, but I need to brush my teeth and take off my makeup or I feel gross and my face will breakout. I sleep with the pillows positioned a certain way and Jack Skellington sitting next to my head, but if B is in bed my orderly way of sleeping is thrown out the window.

I’m trying to be more spontaneous, but generally my routine has stayed intact.

Wow…sleeping until 9:45! Man, I have to leave my house to get to work at 6:45am!! Sometimes I miss the days of working in TV and having a late start for work :)

I’m the same way with routine, except what really gets me is when I have to veer from my weekly routine by changing up things I do on certain days/at certain times, etc.
