I’ve been searching Craigslist every day for a table & chairs and a couple of dressers. My dad is going to build a farm house-style table (something like this), but in the mean time I’d prefer to get rid of the card table and folding chairs that are in the dining room now. We’re also going to need a couple dressers because there is now way B’s stuff is going to fit in the dresser I currently have. And he’s crazy if he thinks I’m getting rid of anything! So I’m hoping that this, this and this (the larger one) will be moving into my house this weekend.
Going through listings has been very entertaining. I love clicking on items described as gorgeous or unique because that generally leads to something heinously ‘why the hell did you buy that?’ ugly.
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect couch and my next stop will be Macy’s tonight. I’ve decided I’m never going to find the perfect sectional, so I’m settling for a couch and an ottoman.
I stopped by JCPenney’s last Friday and was ignored by the four sales people though I was the only person in the store. Don’t they know they are all supposed to attack like ravenous wolves as soon as I walk in the door? After looking at couches for a half hour I gave up and went home. And by ‘gave up’ I mean I got totally pissed.
I went back the next day with my parents – despite not wanting to buy from them, they have the couch I want. As soon as I was ready to fork over the cash, I was told the couch was on back order. To prove their amazing salemanship, the manager said he would call on Monday to let me know if I could get it earlier than March 12, but of course I still have not heard from him. Too bad for them because I was going to buy the couch either way. Fail JCPenney, major fail! Now I will have to buy a couch from your arch nemesis, Macys. mwahahaha
I don’t have anymore house pictures right now. The only pictures I’ve taken are of me sitting in a La-Z-Boy eating ice cream, so B can keep up with my exciting life while he is in Japan.

Sarah,
Your site is gorgeous, I love it. Especially that wonderful header. I feel your couch pain — my lovely sectional was bought from a store that then proceeded to go out of business before they delivered it. It was quite the struggle but I did eventually get what I wanted with lots of yelling. Anyway I came over from Mom in Real Life — your comments about the contest we are hosting. If you are ever interested in a fun review or giveaway email me anytime.
Oh I know exactly how you feel I get SO mad when people don’t help me in a store.
angela – found a couch at macys and it’s way better!
amanda – yep, he’s moving in. so excited! i told jcpenney’s to eff off and got a super cute couch from macys.
ria – ordered a couch…only took me 4 weeks!
how did the furniture turn out?! :)
I didn’t realize you two were going to be sharing your new home! How exciting. I think you should stick to your guns and not give JCP your business. I hate not being taken seriously as a 20something. I have a job! I have money! I need something to sit on!
Gah!
Yum! Cinnamon ice cream sounds amazing at the moment! I hope that Macys will have a couch that’s just as awesome, for cheaper!
