Met up with Linz to go see the Grande Nationals at Smalls. Rarely go to that bar since it’s so out of the way and usually pretty empty. The show was awesome, I’d never seen the Nationals before. By the time the second band started, Linz, Drew and I were ready to head back to Ferndale for some karaoke.

The second bar was full of people 50 or older. Lots of creepy old dudes hit on me and my boobs. Karaoke was epic. Kristen was wasted and put on a show, making everyone laugh so hard they were in tears. Stevie, also wasted, bogarted the mic and kept pointing at his wife and yelling ‘she married me!’ The Panthers did a couple songs and Scooter, clad in a ’70s jumpsuit got the whole bar singing New Kids. Possibly the most entertaining karaoke I’ve ever seen.
Made it home by 3 and promptly passed out.
Now I’m making my iPod very, very happy and filling it with more lovely music:
Muse – Black Holes and Revelations
Vampire Weekend – Self titled
Silversun Pickups – Carnavas
The Hard Lessons – Complete B & G sides
MGMT – Oracular Spectacular
Motion City Soundtrack – Acoustic EP

genius playlist at the end there may i suggest new kings of leon?
Not to be a creeper, but we’re very close to being musical soulmates, with the MGMT, Silversun, Muse, etc. Have you tried Cold War Kids or The Editors?
