Last night Klair and I headed to Dearborn for veggie Chinese food at Red Star. The restaurant looks like a creepy VFW hall and there is rarely more than a table or two full of patrons. You can get any item vegetarian, which means I gorged myself on almond boneless fake chicken and sweet and sour fake chicken. The server had to come by three times to ask what I ordered even though she wrote it down the first time. Then my food came out 5 minutes after Klair’s. It was delicious in all it’s fried glory and left me feeling like I ate rocks for the rest of the night…totally worth it!

After dinner I drove like a mad woman to get us back to RO in 20 minutes so we could see Choke. Klair’s buddy was behind the ticket counter and let us in for free. Yay again for free stuff! The movie was great, but a little strange because I only knew what happened half way through since I never finished the book.

I recommend it, especially if you like boobies. (I’m sure I’m going to get lots of visitors for that word! I get hits from ‘nice booty’ EVERY day.)

I’m very excited to stay in tonight for TVpalooza and wine – Top Model, Project Runway and then I’m gonna catch up on Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. I usually have TV Wednesdays with mom, but she’s off at the casino partying with her girlfriends and losing all our money.

How was Choke compared to the book?

    Shorter, I imagine.

Uh, now I’m curious about this movie. Not because I necessarily want to see boobies- I’ve seen those before- but because I’m wondering what happens in the movie that boobies are a main feature.
Also- ALL VFWs are creepy. Just clarifying.

Oh dammit, i’ve just ate and you’ve made me hungry again!

  5. I didn’t like Choke that much. I like the way it came across, though – all gross, greasy, and dirty – like it was supposed to be. I just don’t think it built up to a great climax, the way the book does. The movie was actually a bit boring. The actors were all great, but I wanted the script to have more ebbs and swells.

I did like the short cut-to’s in the first half of the movie – the sex, the boobies. Funny stuff.

    I’m so ready for tv!
