A couple hours ago, while playing Scrabble working away I hear a coworker standing near me say “McCain, sexist?” QUESTION MARK?! I whip around and tell him that McCain is in fact sexist. He asks why, and I tell him there are more reasons than I care to discuss at this time, but I would be glad to send him an email. And email him I did…about a dozen articles on McCain’s choice for VP, his stance on abortion, equal pay, health care, and some of the gems that come out of that man’s mouth. I also took the liberty of forward the list to a couple female friends that have said they plan to vote for him.
While surfing I found an article on Salon about a woman with a master’s degree and a job who finds herself unable to feed her three children and her experience taking them to a soup kitchen.
Just in case you were interested, I’ve put my list of ‘why I’m not voting for McCain” articles after the cut. Feel free to add on to it and/or forward it.

esthela – i’m by no means attempting to convert a republican, but for those on the fence (and i think there are many) i’m happy pass along my list.
I feel like it’s already hard enough to accomplish being an at least likable politician, but McCain and mainly Palin, REALLY make it easy to hate–with a passion–them as politicians. But no die hard republican is going to click and read those articles–they are in denial and that’s what makes this election SO TRICKY. But, keep spreading intelligence and pray it sticks somewhere. Obama 08!
Sarah Marie – no worries! that would piss me off too. judging by the comments, there are still some bloggers who don’t write about politics, but are passionate abotu the issues anyway.
Jessica – i’m so glad jason tate uses his platform to talk about politics too. he reaches so many kids and i’m sure a lot of them look up to him.
Lauren – not sure if i saw that, but i did see the one of conservative political pundits speaking negatively about democrats and then in the same situation saying positive things about republicans.
ambika – yes! please pass the list along!
This is something to keep in mind when I see posts on Etsy’s forums for people who support him & Palin. So thank you.
AMEN! McCain and his Stepford Wife are douches!
Did you see The Daily Show last week? Stewart had the best footage of McCain saying how women shouldn’t be in the white house (referring to Clinton) and such…and then NEWER footage of him saying how women have a right to be in the white house. I LOVE how he contradicts himself. It’s so wonderful.
So thank you for the additional reasons NOT to vote for him.
ps. you’re the winner of the giveaway on my blog! will you send me your address? congrats!

ps. i grew up in rochester hills :)
good for you. that is awesome.
Yeah, Sarah! Michigan is important in this election! Spread the word! :)
The election gets me so riled up. I’m eager to watch Palin on ABC News tonight in her first interview. Set. To. Record!
I’ve been spreading a post by AP.net dude Jason Tate, actually – it’s quite interesting. He lists and links all the reasons he’s not voting for McCain: http://www.absolutepunk.net/journal.php?do=showentry&e=55441
p.s.
I’m really sorry about that rambling, crazy negative comment. :(
I hope everything turns out OK with your house situation …
Oh man… where to begin? I’ve read and emailed so many articles in the past week … I feel stupid for writing blogs about new chairs and blah blah blah when the election is staring me in the face but maybe I’m just overloaded with the election all day long and so I have no more energy left to blog. And maybe it just depresses me. It depresses me that if I write a political article I get far less comments than when I post a picture of crap I bought at the dollar spot. But really, I’m not complaining about lack of comments because who cares I’m just complaining about people not caring … about caring more about cheap crap from China. Ahh! I’m getting so negative, worrying about this election. If Obama doesn’t win, I’m seriously going insane. INSANE. And yes, McCain is a crazy sexist and Sarah Palin is the scariest woman ever. I shudder to think about her in the white house. No, that’s NOT going to happen! Not giving up hope yet …
Excellent.
I didn’t need more reasons but I’ll take all I can get.
