I’ve been a very bad blogger lately. Here’s what I’ve been up to.
Friday Jenn and I met at Inn Season for a much need dinner date. We stuffed our faces while reading horoscopes and drank a lot of tea. Vegan banana coconut cream pie for dessert. She continued trying to convince me to attend a meditation. Maybe next Thurs…maybe. Afterward we headed back to my house to check movies times and then grabbed my sister on the way out the door, yelling to her that she had two minutes to put on pants and then we were outta there.
Finally got to see The Dark Knight and at IMAX to boot! I was worried about it not living up to everything I heard, but of course it did. Piebald sing-a-long on the way home. Any time Jenn and I are riding in a car together there must be a sing-a-long. We also did Get Up Kids. Alkaline Trio is always the favorite.
Saturday I spent the day at Eastern Market antiquing with the rents (belated Sunday in the D post coming soon). I can’t believe it took me so long to get my butt out there. It was fantastic and a miracle I didn’t buy a houseful of furniture. It began to pour as were walking between shops and we ended up soaked. Made a break for the car and not a minute later as we were pulling out of the parking lot it stopped
Came home to vegan cupcakes from Kate. She is turning into a phenomenal baker and I told her she is not allowed to go back to college. Dinner with the rents – we made BLTs and fresh corn on the cob from the market.
After downing two cups of tea I re-straightened my hair which had inflated from the rain and drove out to 17th Street for Liz’s b-day. She was nice a tipsy by the time I showed up and had to take three pictures with me because her ability to smile was a bit off. The bar was quiet aside from our group. About an hour after I got there a dj showed up and unplugged Liz’s iPod which had been cranking out the likes of Green Day and Dropkick Murphys and started playing club music. I wasn’t too into that, but beer + Linz got me to dance through one song. Liz had been downing shots all night but still managed to kick ass at darts even as I was making my exit.
Sunday was spent mostly in bed reading ‘Ya Yas in Bloom’ and drinking more tea. Went to dinner at PF Changs for Liz’s b-day and then back home to finish the book.
