Cake or Death

Headed to Klair’s after work for dinner. Found the babes (babes = the 4 ladies living at Babehaus) in the kitchen cleaning corn and chopping veggies. Klair was in the backyard dousing the grill with lighter fluid and dropping in little bits of flaming paper in an attempt to get it started.

Two of Amy’s friends showed up and supplied me with beer for the night. We sat on the back porch and chatted about their show w/ Peter Frampton the night before as the babes cooked dinner.  The veggie burgers were on and off the grill in just a couple minutes. Dinner was so good – those girls know how to cook! I asked if I could come over for dinner every night.

It began to get dark and realizing there weren’t any lights on the back porch Klair filled pie tins with tea lights and a couple people spent the evening with a lighter in hand as the wind put them out.

When we could no longer stand the mosquitoes, we headed inside to watch Eddie Izzard. One mention of Scrabble and Klair was digging out the board and setting it up in the dining room. We ruled the game with words like ‘toxins’ and ‘qi’ and then took celebratory photos of ourselves with her MacBook conveniently set up next to a giant fan.

Oh boy do I love me some Scrabble. I need your friends – mine won’t play board games anymore.

We don’t need a bloody flag!

  3. The fact that you watched Eddie Izzard gives me such respect for you (and anyone else who knows his stand up). That said, I have one question for you:

    Do you have a flag?
